“Greek mythology gave us beautiful Europa, we need to perfect it.” – Revenidou Athina

Europa and Zeus in Brussels.

Europa and Zeus in Brussels.

In Greek mythology, Europa, was the daughter of Agenor, the Phoenician King of Tyre. She was a very beautiful woman. That is why she was abducted by Zeus, the father of all gods. As Greek, when I hear the word Europe, my mind automatically returns to Greek mythology and this beautiful girl that the story describes. In my mind the beauty of the girl is connected with the beauty of the continent, a continent with great stories to tell.
Leaders of Europe decided to unite all Europeans in a union, known today as the European Union. That is why I believe that the idea of Europe is the idea of integration. The unification exists in many aspects. But we have not reached integration yet. It is a task we can endeavor to complete together so that Europe can have many more stories of success to tell in the future.
In recent years, despite the fact that we are in the middle of a financial crisis which has devastated the vast majority of countries in Europe, we need to take action and search for possible solutions which will give us the opportunity to experience the desired integration.
